As in - if taskforce A with 4 carriers, meets taskforce B also with 4 carriers, but then it is reinforced by a second taskforce C, also with 4 carriers, that makes 4v8 carrier battle and is allowed (currently efficiency of combined taskforce B+C will lower carrier traffic to that of roughly 2 because of how punishing this limit is) Make it so that the 4 carriers limit is per taskfroce - not per battle. So I propose a simple fix to make carriers at least a bit more realistic and better. So if you try to play "historical" carrier combat in pacific, you will simply be obliterated by whatever meta is currently good (roach DD, cruiser with light guns, sub spam etc.) whereas you should be able to just bomb a few ships and retreat before those cruisers even see you (see battle of Midway).īut of course making it realistic would be hard, I get it. The crux of the problem is that when 2 navies in hoi4 engage in battle that have carriers, they completely ignore 100+ kilometers of range that this engagement happens, and instead 'spawn' in front of each other in surface fleet range. +500% dmg for carrier planes in battle, max 4 carriers in battle etc. The problem is that the only way that PDX is trying to fix this is by tweaking stats. I don't think that carriers were EVER in healthy state in this game. I love it and that's why it annoys me that there are still things that are super easy to fix (and probably could be fixed by modders but we don't have access to some systems of the game). Identify opponents before choosing attack directions and deciding the sequence of targets and maneuvers. The game is set to release this April 20 on Steam, but eager beavers can check out the free Prologue available to play now.I've been playing this game since 2017 and have 4000+ hours in it. Target enemy land bases and even their entire fleets. Use intel collected during recon missions to prepare pilots and aircraft for large operations. Will you risk all lives on the vessel to save the one in need? Do you have what it takes to make a decision on the spot? No matter what, some sacrifices will be necessary and the only source of redemption is victory. Make sure that any enemy who dares to attack you will end up in the depths of the Pacific. Use maneuvers, aircraft, anti-aircraft turrets, and whatever else you can to survive the enemy attack. Assess which threats need to be dealt with first in order to survive. Your damage control teams can handle fire outbreaks, torpedo strikes, hull flooding, enemy bombardment, airstrikes, and suicide attacks from enemy planes, but not all of them at once. Your ship has many stations to man, and proper management will be the key to executing your plan, whether by taking on an enemy directly, sneaking past them, or taking an alternative route to completely avoid contact. Plan your missions, target your enemies and keep most of your crew safe from attacks.Īssign a crew and choose what your officers should focus on. Focus on taking the best decisions to survive in a hostile environment in the middle of the ocean. This is a task management simulator, similar in style to the more recent Fallout Shelter, for reference, and features a number of gameplay opportunities centred around damage control, mission planning and crew management (among much more). Aircraft Carrier Survival is a simulator set on an aircraft carrier during World War II where the player must manage sections of the ship and deal with attacks and damage, to keep its crew alive and the mission in frame.
